Next up at number 8 on our list of 10 celebrities who have battled drug addiction is American rapper, songwriter, actor and record producer Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem. Known for his hit singles such as The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, Cleanin’ Out My Closet, Lose Yourself, Just Lose It, When I’m Gone, Not Afraid, Crack a Bottle, Love the Way You Lie, The Monster, Berzerk, among others, this 15-time Grammy-winning artist is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 220 million records globally. However, he too has struggled with substance abuse. Eminem had to cancel a leg of his tour in 2000 due to him checking into rehab for his addiction of sleep medication. Having been hospitalised for his drug overdose multiple times, it took years for him to recover from the addiction. Experiencing seizure, sudden collapses, tearing of the meniscus in his knees due to falling over unconsciously are some of the worst affects the drugs had on him. He would take the drugs to get more sleep and after two hours of sleep, he would take another drug. Finally, after starting exercising and rehab, things started for the better for him.
